GROULX, Pauline Marie-Claire (Gauthier)

Pauline passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on March 22, 2017 at the Deep River Four Seasons Lodge. She was the caring wife of Alcide Groulx and loving mother of Pierrette (late  Denis Ouellette), Denis (Marie-Claire), Remi (late Christine), Gilles (Paulette), Camille (Carmen), Michel (Murielle), Raymonde (Denis), Emilien (Rejeanne), Emilienne (Barry), Diane (Wade) and Alcide Jr., as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings Bernadette Groulx (late Lucien), Gabrielle St. Amour, Claude Gauthier (Yvonne), Reginald (Linda), Carmen Giroux (Lionel), Rachelle Lajeunesse (late Gerry), Georgette Poitras (late Rheal) Germain (Marlene) and Clairette Harling (late Bruce). Predeceased by her daughter, Juliette (Michael Leblond, surviving); her parents, Marie (Perron) and Joseph Gauthier and her brother Rosario Gauthier (late Priscille). Pauline will always be remembered for her strength, creativity and determination.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, knitting and sewing. Her open heart touched everyone who entered her life; a matriarch who anchored us all. The Groulx family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 7 to 9 pm. and at St. Thomas d’Aquin Church, Astorville on Tuesday, March 28, from 10 to 11 am. The funeral mass will follow in the Church, at 11:00 am. Spring interment St. Thomas d’Aquin Cemetery, Astorville.
