On November 15 2017, Nola, wife, mother, mother-in-law, and sister, passed away at the age of 85 after a courageous battle with cancer. Nola will be forever remembered by her loving husband Don, and their sons Andy, Jeff (Cecile), Terry (Louise) & Tim (Helga). Her dear grand-daughters, Melissa (Kyle Aubut) & Kristina (Pat Lavigne) and her precious great grandchildren Jackson, Julia and Lydia. Nola was the dear sister of Peter (Diane), Jolene (Al Erven, predeceased) and Wendy (Greg Gilbert). She was predeceased by her parents Joe and Norma (nee Davey), her siblings Shirley (Ken Appleby), Donna (Don Chamberlain) Diane (Bill Bynoe), Bill, predeceased (Dora), Loren, predeceased (Madelaine).
Nola's kind, gentle, generous spirit and humor touched everyone she met. Faith and family came first, her sons and grand daughters are a testament to the values she held so near. Nola loved nature and delighted in sharing her horticultural knowledge and love of birds.
A long time member of the First Baptist Church in North Bay, Nola sang for many years in the choir and enjoyed time as a CGIT leader and Sunday school teacher. She always looked forward to offering her time with friends in the Mission Circle and was a regular visitor to Camp Norland.
Nola's family will receive friends for a visitation at the Martyn Funeral Home, on Thursday from 7-9:00 P.M. A Celebration of Life will be held at Martyn Funeral Home on Friday November 24th at 1:00 P.M. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
Forever touched by our time with her, we take great comfort in knowing Nola is at peace with our Heavenly Father and reunited with loved ones who have gone on before.
