With broken hearts the family announces the unexpected passing of Gene on June 30, 2019 at the age of 69 years. Gene was the beloved husband to Lynn (nee Brown) Green. Loving father to Tim Green and Kimberly Ethier (Richard). Cherished grandfather to his only grandchild Megan. Gene was predeceased by his parents Harold and Rita (nee Park) Green, and his brother Andy Green. He is survived by his brother Don Green (Valerie), his sister Bonnie Nieuwland (Len-deceased), nephew Parker and his nieces Andrea and Kristin. Gene will always be lovingly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins and his many good friends, and will be dearly missed by his four-legged companion Shea. Gene had a fondness for the outdoors and a passion for fishing on Wasi Lake where he and his wife shared many fun times together. His sense of humour will be missed by all. He will forever be in our hearts. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the care and compassion of Dr. Mike Leckie over the years. In keeping with Gene’s wishes cremation will occur at Whispering Pines Funeral Home’s Crematorium. A private family gathering will occur at a later date. If desired donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be gratefully acknowledged by Gene’s family.
