GODON, Joseph Edward

(November 15 1940 - August 28 2020) -  It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother on Friday August 28, 2020,  with his loving wife Patricia at his side.

He was the proud father of Joanne Stanley (Jean-Marc) of Sturgeon Falls, Richard Godon (Roxanne) of Sudbury, Tracy Burns (Mark) of Mattawa and Tammy Godon (Juan) of Thunder Bay.  A very proud loving pepere he will be lovingly rememered by his 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Jeannette Papineau, Tina (Denis Landry), Marcel. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents Yvette (Thibeault) and David Godon as well as his sister Rita Landry.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His love for hockey led him to a coaching position for several years hence he was known as coach to his hockey players. Joseph also served for 14 Years as Corporal in the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada of the Canadian Armed Forces then became President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 225, Sturgeon Falls for many terms.

A memorial visitation will be held at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd., North By on Saturday September 5th  from 2 until 4 pm with a celebration of his life to follow.

In accordance with current directives from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario in regard to COVID 19 the total number of attendees is limited and additional precautions are in place. Face masks are mandatory at the funeral home. For more information please contact the funeral home (705-474-7655).
