The Godin family sadly announce the passing of Danny on Sunday, Septemer 13, 2020 at Lakefield Health Centre, Oshawa. He was 85. Our dear Dad courageously fought cancer and was blessed to have the loving care of his daughter, Kendra, son-in-law, Karl, and grandson, Daniel, who provided whatever Dad required over the past number of months. Dad accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 70. Miracles do happen! We will be together again! Dad was predeceased by our dear Mom, Donna (née Brooks) 1994; his dear Mom, Mamie; sisters Myrna, Betty, Carol; grandson Dexter; and father-in-law Stan Brooks. Dad leaves to miss him dearly his children Kim (Anthony), Kyle (Susan), Kendra (Karl), Kent (Diane); grandsons Blake, Brandon, Brooks, Daniel, Liam; great-grandchildren Ashley, Lukin, Gibson, Easton; mother-in-law, Ena Brooks; brother John; sisters Mary and Elaine; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Halliet & Juanita Brooks and Joan Brooks (the late Dale). Dad was extremely proud and protective of his children and loved and adored his grandsons. His great-grands were special and Ashley, the only girl, well she had Poppa’s heart. We will miss Dad’s phone calls and texting (oh my!), and when around him, hearing his whistle. His sense of humour stayed with him until the end. We would like to especially thank Anna on 4F for her wonderful care as well as all of the other staff who made Dad comfortable.
Visitors will be received at the Argyle Community Centre on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm, followed by interment at Port Loring Cemetery. Please note: COVID 19 restrictions are in place. Masks must be worn and social distancing of 3 metres must be maintained. In lieu of flowers, donations to Durham Regional Cancer Centre (cheques only please) are suggested.
