GILES, Nelson George ‘Sonny’

Nelson Giles died peacefully, surrounded by family, at North Bay Regional Health Centre, on Friday, October 2, 2015. He was in his 74th year. Nelson was the beloved husband of Monica (Gallagher) of Powassan and much loved father of Colleen (Danny Gomez) and Christine (Sumesh Mohabeer), all of Aurora and Dianna (Jason Grawbarger) of Powassan. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Joshua, Justine and Nathan Mohabeer and Seth and Wyatt Grawbarger. Nelson is survived by his mother Fernande (Savard) and was predeceased by his father Benjamin Giles. He was the dear brother of June Giles, Elizabeth and Paul Quesnel, Dennis and Linda Giles, Maureen and Jay Cloutier, Ben Giles (deceased), Susie Giles, Ken and Lynn Gallagher, Joan Gallagher Main and Bob Main, Maureen & Dean Turner, Carol Gallagher and Del Doucette, Mark Gallagher and Maureen Ralph. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Former owner/operator of Parkside Farm in Chisholm Township, Nelson was well known in the agricultural community as the proprietor of Nelson Giles Sales & Service. In 1992 Nelson embarked on a second career in Real Estate. The Giles family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Vigil prayers will be held at 8:45 pm. Fr. Anthony Barol will celebrate a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, Powassan on Friday, October 9 at 10:00 am. Interment at St. Louis de France Cemetery, Chiswick, will follow.
