FRASER, Donald Turner

Died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at the age of 86 years. Don was born in Kentville, Nova Scotia, grew up, married and had children in North Bay, and moved to Kitchener in 1958. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 58 years, Janet (nee Baillie). Loving father of Jon and Cheryl Fraser, Judy and Dave Clark and Jo-Anne and Dave Kropf. Grandpa of Sherri, Lisa, Chris (Jen), Jenny, Michael, Jon (Steph), Rob, Erin, Jackie, Katie, Trevor, Todd, Matthew. "Papa with Suzie" to Hunter, Odin and Rhonan born April 14, 2004, and "Grandpa Don" to Sara, brother of Roy Fraser. He will be missed by his much loved dog, Suzie. Predeceased by two sisters and three brothers. Don served as Sgt. Major with the Algonquin Regiment in "B" Company during the Second World War, and was a prisoner of War at Stalag 4B in Germany. Donald retired 23 years ago, after 36 dedicated years from the LCBO as manager of Store Operations in Area 4. He enjoyed watching baseball, hockey, and golf on T.V. Before his vision difficulties, he loved woodworking and made birdhouses for most of the neighbourhood. Most of all, he loved his family. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Fraser family at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener (519-749-8467) Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. The funeral for Don will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 17, 2004 at 2 p.m. Cremation will follow. Due to his love of children, donations to the Children's Wish Foundation or St. Mary's Hospital would be appreciated by the family. (Cards available at the Funeral Home).
