With grieving hearts, the family announces the passing of Edward (Ed) Foley, on December 1st, 2017.  Ed fought a short battle with cancer with a positive attitude and with his strong faith, accepted from the beginning that God would eventually call him home.

The son of the late Arnold and Emma (Boudreau) Foley, Ed was born in Mavillette, Nova Scotia August 14, 1949.  In 1972, Ed moved to North Bay where he met the love of his life, Mary Sale in 1974 and spent 42yrs of wedded bliss. He is survived by their two daughters and their loving husbands Leigh and Blayne Milne and Kelly and Mike McKeown.

He will forever be remembered by the prides of his life, his cherished grandchildren, Robert, Kevin, and Katrina Ransom, Blake and Landon Foerter, Connor and Amber McKeown, and Kassie Milne.

Ed will be dearly missed by his sisters and brothers; Anna and Dick Prescott, Harold and Marie Foley, Paulette Foley and Mabel McCarthy, Donna Newell and Garey Mood(deceased), Betty Sale(Deceased), Peg and Jim Simms(Deceased), Bill and Jackie Sale, Tom and Marie Sale, and Robert Sale.

Also surviving are Ed’s Godparents, Uncle Alfred Boudreau, and Tante Yvonne Deveau, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

Ed was a proud and loving Godfather to Helen Doucette, Claude Boudreau, Michelle Deveau Cook, Shawn Prescott, Kristine Maeck-Hastie, Angela Cappadocia, Michael Gleiser, and Logan Prescott.

Ed worked for Ontario Northland, in North Bay, for 31 years, and enjoyed every position that he held, up until his retirement as Supervisor of Passenger Revenues, and Internal Auditor, in 2004.

Special thanks to longtime friends, Linda, Dave and Ruth, who have been amazing supports through this journey.

The family would like to thank the following people, Dr. Halpert, Dr. Young, Dr. Shehata, and all of the staff of Pod C3 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, who have assisted in his care during his final days.  Thanks to Msgr. Dave Tramontini, Rev. Al Falconi, and Rev. Gary Westenenk for their spiritual support.

Visitation will be held at Martyn’s Funeral Home, Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm

Funeral Mass will be held at The Pro-Cathedral Of The Assumption, Friday, December 8, 2017 at 10am with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery to follow
