FOISY, Antonia Marie (nee Gaudreault)

After a brief illness at the Algonquin Nursing Home on Monday August 20, 2018 in her 90^th year.  Dear wife of the late Jean Baptiste Foisy. Loving mother of Rachelle Miville (Jean Claude, predeceased), Monique Leblanc (Jacques, predeceased), Jeanne D’Arc Foisy, Jeannine Chenier (Gerald), Lise Belanger (Ghislain ‘Chin’), Maurice (Linda Paul) and Carole Belanger (Jean Marie ‘Chimpy’). Predeceased by her daughters Annette and Patricia.  Sadly missed by 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.  Antonia is one of 15 brothers and sisters.  She was a loving mother who also loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. She will be remembered by her many friends through her acts of volunteering, delivering Meals on Wheels and helping prepare meals at the Golden Age Club. Antonia was a devoted member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, sang in the choir, was an avid ticket seller for their fundraiser and worked in the rectory for many years. Her hobbies included bowling and playing cards with her friends at the Golden Age. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing and many types of puzzles.  Her grandchildren spent many hours learning and playing card games with “grand-maman”.  Friends may call at the Martyn & Sloan ‘Mattawa Chapel’ on Wednesday from 2:30-4 and 7-9 pm.  The funeral mass will be held at St. Anne’s church on Thursday at 11 am. Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery. Donations to L’Arche, North Bay would be appreciated.
