FINK, Irene

Passed away at Nipissing Manor Nursing Care Centre, Corbeil, on Thursday, April 8th, 2004, Irene Fink, at the age of 93 years. Born in Mattawa to the late Bernadette (nee Boissonneault) and Ernest Fink. She was predeceased by two sisters, Annette Fink and Estelle Poulette (Bob, deceased) and a brother Hector Fink (Berthe, surviving) and a nephew Paul Fink. Irene was devoted to her family and extended family and caregiver to her father and sisters. Lovingly remembered by her nephews Louis Poulette, Raymond Fink (Renee), Guy Fink (Carolyn) and niece Colette Fink. Will be missed by her aunts Cecile Fink and Katherine Fink; cousins Marie Fraser, Jacquie Devolin (Al), Julie Kelly (Charlie), Judy Fraser (Doug Clark) and good friends Debby and Jim Lovegrove. Irene served as a Sergeant in the Royal Canadian Army from November 1941 to July 1942 then rose to rank of Captain in the Canadian Women's Army Corp until she returned to private life in January 1946. She was a former teacher/librarian at Chippewa Secondary School until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of the North Bay Duplicate Bridge Club and golfed in Sturgeon Falls. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 17th, 2004 at the Pro Cathedral at 11 a.m. with luncheon to follow. Burial at St. Anne's Cemetery in Mattawa at a later date. Donation to the North Bay Food Bank would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements under the directions of the McGuinty Funeral Home.
