Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Monday January 9th, 2023, at the age of 80 years.
Loving spouse of Bernard McGaughey for over 30 years. Beloved mother of Laurie deVree (Olav), Brian Fearon (Linda Mele) and John McGaughey (Heejin Song). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Merik and Ferrous deVree and Ethan and Zoë McGaughey. She was predeceased by her mother Celia and father Charles, her siblings Doug Bell (Barbara-surviving), Jeanne Worrell and Diane Bell and survived by one sister Frances Shield.
Marilyn worked at Canadore College for 29 years. During that time, she became the Budget Coordinator. After retirement, she enjoyed travelling with Bernie and spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored. She will always be remembered for her home cooked meals that everyone will truly miss.
Marilyn was a strong, smart, well organised woman who will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
As per her request, there will be no visitation or service.
In lieu of flowers or donations, Marilyn’s wishes are that you make someone smile with a good deed or a random act of kindness.
