EVEREST, Alfred Robert “Harold/Alf”

Peacefully, at Eastholme, Powassan, on Friday, July 14, 2017. He was in his 90th year. Alf was predeceased by his wife Mary (Cox) (1928-2010). He was the beloved father of John Everest (Erica) of Toronto and Robert “Bob” Everest (Jo-Anne) of North Bay. Grandpa will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Kristen, Lauren, Alexa and Elijah. Alf was predeceased by his sister Dorothea Lee and brothers Cecil, Curtis, Douglas, Albert “Jim”, Jesse and Reginald. Alf retired from Ontario Hydro after 37 years of service. He was a very active member of Powassan United Church and the Powassan Volunteer Fire Department; and was Past Worshipful Master of the Powassan Masonic Lodge. The Everest family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Masonic Lodge Tribute Service will be held at 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held in the Paul Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 19 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Powassan Union Cemetery.
