Madeline Mary Desilets, loving mother of Paul and daughter-in-law Janet passed away peacefully in her 87th year on Monday, December 21, 2020.She was the beloved wife of George Desilets (1929-2009).  Her parents Liberato and Ascenza DiBartolomeo were blessed with seven daughters and two sons namely Lucy, Pam, Enzie, Sam, Margaret, Mary, Jim, Madeline and Joan. Madeline lived in North Bay for most of her life then moved to the Toronto area to be closer to Paul and Janet.  As a faithful parishioner of St. Rita’s Church, she was also a devoted Catholic Women’s League member. She worked at various firms including Inspiration Ltd as well as Ontario Hydro for 15 years until retirement in 1983. Madeline loved being around family and friends. She enjoyed dancing the night away with her husband George, laughing and playing euchre and cribbage with her sisters till the wee hours of the morning.  She also enjoyed arts and crafts as well as baking Italian goodies and was known for her delicious pies. Her warm, kind soul will always give us comfort as she will forever live in our hearts. The family will be receiving visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Monday December 28, 2020 from 11am until 2pm (Due to Current Covid-19 Restrictions Attendance at a visitation is scheduled by appointment only. As expressions of sympathy the Heart and Stroke Association is suggested and would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. The funeral service will be private but available for viewing on the McGuinty Funeral Home Limited Face Book page on Monday December 28 2020 at 2pm. In accordance with current directives from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario regarding COVID 19 (https://thebao.ca/registrars-directive-changes-to-funeral-and-visitation-attendance/) the total number of attendees is limited, and additional precautions are in place.
