With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Janice Derochie on August 12, 2019 at the age of 80. After a brief illness, she was surrounded by family and loved ones at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Loving mother of Chris Derochie (Christine Misch), Brenda Vaananen (Keith), and Karen Waller (Ken). Cherished grandma of Braden, Kiersten, Graeme, and Madison who were the light of her life. Dear sister of Susan Rochon (Gerry-deceased), Howard Eldon (Chris), and Sandra Eldon. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her husband William (Paul) Derochie, parents Clarence and Rita Eldon (nee Knight), and her sister Ann Siwek (Karl). Family will receive visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Friday August 16, 2019 from 3-7 pm to celebrate her life. Please come casually. Donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be gratefully appreciated. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Marina Point, Waters Edge Care Community, Dr. O’Grady, Dr. Redhead, the nurses on D3 and CCU at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, especially Sara and Renee for their care and compassion given during this time.
