At the North Bay General Hospital on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 in her 66th year after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Loving wife of Randy and the late Earl (Buck) McParland. Mother of MaryLou (Phil) LeBlanc, Tom (Fran) McParland and Carolyn (Jerry) Pitman. Stepmother of Philip (Linda), John, Clement and Stephen (Christine) DeFreitas. Grandmother of Carla Petersen, Kristina and Matthew McParland and Eric Pitman and step-grandmother of Shane, Tammy, Adam, Joshua, Ryan and Sharley DeFreitas. Predeceased by her parents Doug and Marion Hargrave, Janice coached ringette for many years starting in the early 1960's. She was a recipient of the Agnes Jacks Ambassador Award. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from City Hall) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. Cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium (Tower Drive). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre or the North Bay Masonic Building Fund would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
