COOTE, Harry Ernest (Jack)

Slipped away peacefully at North Bay General Hospital surrounded by the love of his family on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the age of 87. Jack was the dedicated husband of the late Betty Coote and is survived by daughter Trudy Kivimaki (Eric) Tottenham, Terry Coote (deceased), Michael Coote (British Columbia) & Jamie Coote (Aline) Astorville, Wendy Ellis (Brian - deceased) of Fernie BC, Michael Plata (Pat) Barnsley England. Jack was so proud to be grandpa to Leanne & Lewis Plata, Andrew & David Ellis, Chris Blackett, Shawn Coote & Andrée Wilder, Gabrielle, Dominic & Benoît Coote and to 11 great-grand-children. Born in Orillia he followed in his father's trade as a foundryman at Dorr Oliver Long. Eventually relocating to North Bay as the foundry foreman at Rahn Metals for 35 years. Jack was a proud Legionnaire of Branch 23 and 406 Wing and for many years a member of the Legion Color Party. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice in memory of Jack will be greatly acknowledge by his family. Arrangements entrusted to HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES.
