Coles Sylvia

With heavy hearts the Coles family sadly announces Sylvia’s death on Thursday June 28, 2018, at the age of 61 years.  Sylvia died peacefully at the Toronto General Hospital, with her beloved Wayne by her side, following a two year battle with lung disease. For the past thirty nine years Sylvia and Wayne have been devoted partners and soulmates.  She will be forever missed by her daughters Letitia Busch (Luke), and Alida McAuley (Matthew), and her treasured granddaughters Kali, Addisyn, Bellamy, and Wynter.  She was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first grandson later this year.  Predeceased by her parents Fredrick and Ann Dikken, she will be sadly missed by her brother John Dikken, her sister Sheilah Ranger and her mother in law Jean Coles, of Summerset PEI.  Sylvia will also be remembered by her brother and sister in laws Valerie (Jim), Conrad (Anne), Leonard (Debbie), James (Maggie), Linda (John), and Jason.  A nurse by profession Sylvia will be remembered by many for the geriatric care she provided in several area nursing homes.  Friends may call at Martyn Funeral Home on Thursday July 5 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00pm.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00am on Friday July 6, with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The Coles family offer their heart felt and sincerest thank you to the doctors, nurses, and surgeons of the Lung Transplant Team at Toronto General Hospital for the outstanding care, compassion and support given to Sylvia and her family throughout this difficult journey.  If you would like to honour Sylvia with a memorial donation please consider the University Health Network Lung Transplant Clinic, Toronto and/or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
