A former resident of Sturgeon Falls, Bill passed away in Halifax, Nova Scotia on March 6, 2004 in his 73rd year, after a very courageous battle with cancer. Bill is survived by his loving Wife Carmen (Cusson), his sons Bruce (Frances) of Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Dwight (Marilyn) of Elmira, Ontario, Jeff of Edmonton, Alberta and daughter Cindy (Mark Josey) of Sackville, Nova Scotia. Dear grandfather of Melissa (Pat Rainville), Tiffany, Kraig, Jesse, Lindsay, Daniel, Michelle, Kyle and Shannon. Predeceased by his parents Roy and Agnes (Mclnnis) Cockburn, brothers Angus, George and Mac Cockburn and sisters Lois Hopper and Isabella Merchant. Survived by his sister Flora Stuart (Sudbury) and two brothers Jack Cockburn (Sudbury) and Walter (Lena) Cockburn of North Bay. Bill has been cremated and his remains will be placed in the Cockburn Family plot, at a suitable time, in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario.
