Died peacefully with her family at her side Feb. 18, 2017 in her 98th year at Eastholme Powassan. Pre-deceased by her husband James (Jim) 1997. Pre-deceased by her parents Victor and Loretta Maher, her beloved sister Mae Knott (Ab) and Clark family members William (Marjory Ingram) and children Gordon (Ellen); Hector (Edith); Ronald; Barbara Dickey (Bob). Billie was the matriarch, the pivot around which the whole family  turned. Billie’s contribution to our world and everyone who entered her circle was her unending love, compassion, understanding, guidance and her pure sense of fun.  She was not only a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her own clan but was considered honorary family by many family friends over the years. Her door never truly closed and Billie loved it that way. She simply adored all children and they adored her back. For her grandkids, she was the hostess of many late-night movie pajama party and always had a large stash of chocolate hidden away to be shared. She skated, tobogganed, cross country skied with the kids and was always up for fun. At age 91, she was still down on her knees crawling in and out of a play tent on a basement floor to chase a 2 year old great granddaughter. As one grandson says, “if the dictionary had a picture beside grandmother it would be of her”. If the years eventually stole some of her light, they never stole her heart. Billie is survived by her children, Wm. Robert “Bud” (Dulcie); widowed daughters Sharleen Constantineau (Dan) and Judy Filiatrault (Russ); Jo-Ann Elliott (Bill); Kevin (Terri Giroux) and son-in-law Geoff Sykes.  Her grandchildren are Keith Clark (Jocelyn Gauvin); Ian Clark; Robert Scott, Christine and Michael Filiatrault (Joanne) (NB); Kim Constantineau Tibbles (Jeramy); Cathy Constantineau (Jesse Chorkawy)(AB); Nicole Sykes (Rob Montgomery).  Billie was blessed with 11 Great Grandchildren Kailan Clark; Shelby (Clark) Royal; Chris’s children Ben and Becca Woelfley; Michael’s children Zoe and Owen Filiatrault; great granddaughters Parker and Payton Tibbles; Addison, Dylan and Rowan Montgomery and the Elliott extended family of step grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as several nieces and their children. Billie loved them all. Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd on Saturday Feb. 25, 2017 at 10:00am for a memorial service. The Clark family sends the sincerest thank you to Dr. Cowan and nursing staff at Eastholme and ALL staff for their excellent care of mom over the last 10 months. The compassion and many kindnesses shown to Billie and the whole Clark family will never be forgotten. Donations if desired to a charity of your choice. Billie’s preference would be for children and animals. Billie please rest peacefully. Your job is done. As we assured you, “we will be with you in the blink of an eye.” Online condolences can be made at www.hillsidefuneral.ca.
