Chaput, Marguerite

On April 25th, 2017, at home surrounded by her loving family, Marguerite’s last leg of her journey on earth ended to join her beloved ones in Heaven.   Born to Anne and Jérémie Chaput of Chapeau Quebec.  She is survived by her children Linda Brown, and Lucien Chaput (Kim), and her extended children Tammy Plarina (Armand), Theressa Merling (Jamie), Debbie Scarfone (Carmen), Cathy Moon (Richard) and Peter, as well as her loving grandchildren Stephanie, Chloé and Jérémie, and her many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Pierrette Lanteigne (Roger), and her brother René Chaput.  Marguerite was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, great great aunt and friend.  She loved being with family and spending many hours at the waterfront with the “gang” walking, laughing and watching the sunset.  She will always be remembered for her great sense of humour and always having the gift to look on the positive side no matter how bad the situation was.  Marguerite loved to love and that’s what she will be remembered for the most.  She touched and changed many lives while she was on this earth and definitely had a positive impact on many who crossed her path.  She worked for over 25 years at the Nipissing Transition House and was a pioneer in developing their Women’s Outreach program.  The family would like thank the staff, her angels from Paramed Sandra, Marcy, Vicky, Eileen and Carrie, as well as Heather from CCAS for their unconditional support, devotion and care towards Marguerite and the family.  We would also like to thank Dr. Shaw, Dr. Preston and Dr. Shehata and all the staff of the North Eastern Ontario Cancer Center for everything they have done for our mother.  It is quite evident that it is not simply a job for these people. It is their calling, it is a profession in which they take great pride and went above and beyond to attend our mother’s needs, and for that we are truly grateful and thankful.

Family will be receiving friends and relatives at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd on Sunday, April 30th 2017 from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9pm.  Service will be held Monday, May 1st 2017 at 11 am at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES.  In lieu of natural flowers, the family would greatly appreciate living plants to be incorporated to Marguerite’s meditation garden. Donations in memory of Marguerite to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be appreciated by her family. Online condolences can be made at www.hillsidefuneral.ca.
