January 4th, 1941 – January 12th, 2022

Suddenly at home on Wednesday, January 12th, 2022, John passed away at the age of 81. He leaves behind his dear wife Evelyn of 58 years. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife and three children: Penny (Stephen), John Paul (Melissa) and Marcella (Cameron), as well as his six grandchildren: Anne, Clara, Ted, Ian, Owen, and Charli. He was predeceased by his older brother Robert and his parents, Elizabeth, and John Campbell.

John was born, raised and met the love of his life, Evelyn, in Uxbridge Ontario.

John was a teacher at Sutton Public School, Doon Public School, and Principal at Egremont Public School. He spent three years teaching in Uganda. Many memories were shared with family and friends of their time spent in Africa. The family then moved to North Bay, Ontario where he taught mathematics at West Ferris Secondary School.

Weekend getaways and summer vacations at the Lake Nipissing cottage are fondly remembered and fostered the family’s love of the great outdoors. In his retirement, John enjoyed country living at ‘Wasi Acres’ and relished in bush walks, wild-life photography, and a bountiful garden.

In respecting John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a private family event.
