At the age of age  of 79, at Gilmore Lodge Nursing Home, Niagara Falls, on May 7, 2018.

Jeannette was born in North Bay on Nov. 15, 1938, attended St. Joseph’s College and at age 18, entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie.

She earned her BSW Degree (Honors) at Lakehead University while stationed in that city at St. Joseph’s Treatment Center. Jeannette retired from religious life nearly a quarter century later and then accepted a senior position at St. Joseph’s Hospital in North Bay.

In 1997, she retired and moved to Stevensville, ON, “where it’s a lot warmer.”

Her Roman Catholic Faith was dear to her heart and when challenges came, Jeannette turned to her Faith. “We have the Mass to turn to, always,” she would say.

Jeannette is survived by her sister, Noreen Vezina (Colin), her brother Larry (Lorraine) Rosamond, CA, and was preceded by her brother, Gorman (Sharon) and her parents Leo and Lorette Brisson, who ran Brisson’s barber shop and confectionery store in West Ferris. She is also survived by  loved nieces and nephews: Stephen, Randy, Colin Jr. and Laurie Vezina; Kyle, Michael and Derek Brisson; Jeannette Brisson Hardy and Michelle Brisson Lafontaine, Rosamond, CA.

Cremation has taken place and the funeral Mass will be celebrated on   Friday, May 18, at 10 a.m., Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption, Msgr. Dave Tramontini  officiating.  Interment of ashes will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery at the burial site of Jeannette’s parents.
