BELANGER, Daniel

Peacefully passed away following a brief illness, and surrounded by family, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre in North Bay, on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the age of 69. Beloved husband for 49 years of Linda Bastien Belanger. Much loved father of Dean (Lana) and Tricia (Roger). Dear grandfather of Carter, Chloe, Emma, Hannah, Denver, Madison, Nadia, Ramsey and Kylie.  Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and in-laws. Although born in Toronto to Sarah-Louise and Clement Belanger, Danny was a Mattawa boy through and through and loved his "hometown". He loved playing sports of all kinds including hockey, baseball and many hours golfing with The Rat Pack. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at MARTYN & SLOAN, Mattawa Chapel, will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 26, 2017, with a reception at Mattawa Golden Age Club to follow. Interment of ashes will take place at St. Anne's Cemetery in the spring. Danny's favourite hockey player was #11, Ramsey Roberts from the Vipers Novice Rep team.
