It is with heavy hearts that Roger’s family announce his passing at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, on July 22, 2021 in his 92nd year. He was the cherished husband to June and loving father to Denise McLellan (George), Robert, Danny (Diane), Michael (Louise) as well as his doting grandchildren, Meagan McLellan (Jeff Van Vliet), Tyler McLellan (Ashley Schofield), Jason Beauchesne (Morgan), Khia Beauchesne and Christopher Beauchesne. He was the beloved great pépère to Camryn Van Vliet and Jacob Beauchesne. He is predeceased by his parents Fred and Alberta Beauchesne, and his siblings Romeo Beauchesne, Majoric Beauchesne, Clem Beauchesne, Anita Parker and Jackie White. He is survived by his sister, Frances Bovay.

Roger was born on June 29, 1930, in Kirkland Lake and was the youngest of seven children. He met June, his nurse while in hospital, and they married. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. He had many health issues over the years, none of which deterred him from enjoying the things he loved: fishing, hunting, spending time at his cottage, snowmobiling and driving his Jeep Wagoneer. Roger was also actively involved in the West Ferris Lions Club, having served twice as President.

Roger was the well-respected owner of Roger’s Jewellers and was loved by all who knew him. Apparently, he retired at the age of 70 but until recently, you could still stop in for a clock or watch repair and of course, a chat. He cherished his time visiting with friends; he especially loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also had many pet companions over the years, but his family will always remember the special bond he had with his dog, Trapper.

A special thanks to Dr. G. Mah, and the nurses at the North Bay Regional Health Centre for their excellent care and support. If desired, the family requests that donations be made to the West Ferris Lions Club. The family will be receiving visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Thursday July 29, 2021 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. Due to current covid restrictions the total number of attendees are limited, everyone must practice social distancing and masks or face coverings are required inside the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com.

The next time you wear your favourite ring or piece of jewellery (which, if you were lucky enough to have purchased from Roger), we hope you look at it sparkle and think of him.
