Baker, Miriam

March 9, 1940 to July 21, 2022

It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of Miriam Isobel Baker after a courageous battle with cancer.  Miriam is survived by her adoring children Thomas (Shelley) and Robert (Jackie) as well as her grandchildren Ryan (Kate) and Emily.  Also left to mourn are Miriam’s loving sisters in law Margo McMillan, (Butch), Brenda Cooper, Deirdre Roach (Robert) and Patricia Wiseman.  Miriam leaves behind several nieces and nephews each of whom shared a very special and personal bond with her.  Miriam was pre-deceased by the love of her life Barrie Roy Baker and her parents Lorne and Ethel Wiseman, sister Katherine and brother William.

Miriam worked at Carleton for many years in several capacities ending her career as a Regional Manager.  She enjoyed music, playing cards and minor hockey.  Her greatest joy however was the interactions she had with family and close friends, she gave herself and her love unconditionally to those who touched her life and she theirs.  Miriam could certainly brighten a room with her sharp wit, colorful personality and seemingly endless optimism.  She has left us with humorous stories and fond memories too numerous to count and for that we will be forever grateful.  Thank you Mom, we love you very much and will miss you greatly.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Timmins and District Hospital Hospice Department.  As per Miriam’s wishes a private internment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in North Bay Ontario.
