Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at the Mattawa Hospital on Sunday May 27th, 2018. Nancy, was the beloved wife of Leonard John "Len" Backer, she was 66 years old. Dearly loved sister of Debbie Bradley and her husband Steve, Craig MacPhail and Glenn (MacPhail) Kay. She will be sadly missed by Len's family and by her many nieces and nephews. Nancy and Len were residential Councillors in Smith Falls for 30 years, retiring together in 2001. They enjoyed their life together on the water in Mattawa and travelling the globe. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's United Church in the Pines, on Friday June 1st at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place.
