After a lengthy illness Gertrude Eva (Trudy) Adams (nee Powers), beloved wife and best friend of Neil D. Adams (married 50 years), peacefully passed away in Toronto at her daughter's home, on January 11, 2004. Loving mother of Laurie Adams and Linda Adams-Best, mother-in-law to Wayne Marshall and Kelly Best and dear grandmother of Ryan, Brenden, Andrew and Collin, all will cherish her memory forever. Gertrude was predeceased by her parents, Eva and Leonard Powers, her sister Marion Quirt, brother James (Buster) Powers and sister-in-law Margaret Powers. She is survived by her dear brother-in-law Harold Quirt of North Bay, Ontario. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Gertrude touched many lives with acts-of kindness and generosity along her journey and would simply wish to be remembered as a good and kind person. Visitation will be held at the McGUINTY FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, January 18, 2004, between the hours of 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at the Pro-Cathedral on Monday, January 19, 2004 at 10 a.m. followed by a luncheon in the lounge at McGuinty Funeral Home. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Canadian Cancer Society, would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
