OHL teams don't waste any time selecting Don Mills Flyers at draft

TORONTO — Four players from the Toronto-based Don Mills Flyers were selected in the top 10 picks at the Ontario Hockey League draft on Saturday.

After centre Shane Wright — granted early entry into the draft after having his application for exceptional status approved — went first overall to the Kingston Frontenacs, he saw Flyers winger Brennan Othmann go second to the Flint Firebirds.

Flyers defenceman Brandt Clarke went fourth overall to the Barrie Colts, while Don Mills centre Liam Arnsby was selected ninth by the North Bay Battalion.

The Erie Otters grabbed Kanata Lasers centre Connor Lockhart at No. 3, while the Peterborough Petes rounded out the top five by taking Pembroke Lumber Kings centre Mason McTavish.

The first goalie taken was North Bay Trappers netminder Benjamin Gaudreau, who went seventh to the Sarnia Sting.
