The AIDS Committee of North Bay & Area (ACNBA) will be marking AIDS Awareness Week November 24, to December 1 with a number of events culminating in a special World AIDS Day (WAD) gathering at the White Water Gallery.

North Bay Mayor, Al McDonald will read the official WAD proclamation which will be followed by a short vigil and several brief presentations.

Afterwards, hundreds of red scarves knitted and donated by volunteers and friends of ACNBA for the Red Scarf Project will be tied in the downtown area by ACNBA staff, peers, volunteers and anyone at the event who wishes to participate.

The scarves, bearing HIV/AIDS awareness information will be left for anyone to take. Recipients are encouraged to send us a selfie in their red scarf, which will be posted on our social media. #ACNBAredscarf.

Everyone is invited to a reception for light refreshments at the White Water Gallery following the Red Scarf Project.

Local participating art galleries and tattoo studios will set up displays paying tribute to those lost in the international arts community to HIV/AIDS.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
