Workforce Week 2021 goes online

For the first time, the Job Fair will be offered virtually through an interactive platform

The Labour Market Group's Workforce Week 2021 starts today until the 16th, but will go virtually through an interactive online platform. 

This week-long series of events will showcase the variety of opportunities available throughout the region despite the setbacks of the past year. 

Signature events include:  Get Job Ready, Connect and several Job Fairs. 

Tuesday April 13th- GET JOB READY:  A day for job seekers looking to learn how to maximize their job search and ultimately secure employment. 

This day-long event will feature several components.  The first will be a panel of local employers providing job seekers with key insights and tips on the dos and don’ts of interviews.  Next, a Service Provider Showcase will highlight the programs and services offered at employment agencies throughout the region.  Lastly, YES Employment will provide an interactive session on its virtual trades project.

Wednesday April 14th- CONNECT:  This event offers professional development opportunities for front-line agencies to maximize collaborative approaches and stay motivated in client service. 

Dr. Susan Biali Hass will be the featured Keynote and will explore topics such as burnout prevention, stress management, and resilience.  The two following presentations will help to provide awareness to front- line agencies on the community work being conducted around cultural diversity in the workplace and how this is a key factor to ensure the success of the community’s Rural Northern Immigration Pilot project.

Thursday April 15th- North Bay Job Fair:  For the first time, the Job Fair will be offered virtually through our interactive platform. 

Over 25 employers from a variety of industries will be showcased.  Other job fairs in the region include Parry Sound Job Fair todayand the Almaguin Job Fair on Friday the 16th.

Friday April 16th- Keynote:  Eddie LeMoine- A keynote targeting employers

In partnership with four Chambers of Commerce in the region, Eddie LeMoine will discuss employee attraction, retention, and the psychology of success as a business owner and operator.
