Earlier this year Walmart Canada launched a new campaign called Fight Hunger Spark Change.

Customers and employees at the local Walmart donated $10,225.  Walmart Canada made a corporate match of $2,000.

Last week the North Bay Food Bank received a cheque for almost $12,245.

“We currently receive donations of dried goods and food from our local Walmart on a regular basis, however, this cheque was unexpected,” said manager Amber Livingstone. “Summer is always a tough time of year with food and monetary donations being lower, and this gift came at the right time.”
