The Operational Stress Injury Social Support (OSISS) program is a partnership program between Veterans Affairs Canada and the Department of National Defence that offers social support to Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans and their families experiencing an operational stress injury (OSI).  The OSISS program will be hosting a Veterans Outreach Coffee from 10 a.m. to noon on April 26 at the North Bay Legion Branch 23 (150 1st Ave W).

An Operational Stress Injury is any prolonged psychological impact as a result of operations in the military, such as anxiety, depression or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Anyone who is experiencing a military, service-related Operational Stress Injury or supports someone experiencing a service-related Operational Stress Injury is welcome to attend.

Brent Austin from OSISS will be there to provide support and information on different social support opportunities for members, Veterans, and families within North Bay and the surrounding area.

Drop by anytime between 10 a.m. and noon for a free coffee and to say hello.  If you have more time, the Legion also offers a great lunch for a low price.

If you can’t make it but would like more information about OSISS, please contact Brent at (705) 494-2011 ext 5021 or email him at [email protected]
