TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Description of Weather System

Minimal precipitation is forecast over the Province over the next five days with five day totals of 0 to 5mm across the Province.

Temperatures are forecast to remain below normal Thursday through Friday then begin to slightly warm through the weekend with highs of around 5 C and lows around 0 C in the northeast and highs of around 10 C and lows around 2 C in central Ontario.

Description of Current Conditions

Snowmelt is expected to continue through the central and northeastern region.

Rivers and streams will continue their seasonal increase in levels and flows as the spring melt continues northward and moderate risks of ice jam formation exist, due to the heavy ice cover that formed through the winter.

There have been reports of flooding across central and northeast Ontario that has impacted travel along some provincial highways and local roads in the region.

A close watch on local forecasts and conditions is recommended.
