Unwanted person charged

Police attended the location and arrested one person, who had broken into an apartment

 The Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an unwanted person in a multi-residence on Main Street, West Nipissing (Sturgeon Falls) at 8:57 p.m. on July 25, 2022. 

Police attended the location and arrested one person, who had broken into an apartment.

Police say a small quantity of drugs, suspected to be methamphetamine was located on the person.

As a result of the investigation, Jacques Mayer, 44-years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with:

  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs Substance Act

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on September 1, 2022, in West Nipissing.
