OPP say they were called to an MTO weigh station yesterday afternoon after a trucker beat up an inspector.
Shortly after 2 p.m., OPP officers responded to an assault that occurred at the Ministry of Transportation Spragge weigh scales at the junction of Highway 17 and Highway 108 in the Township of the North Shore.
Police determined that a Ministry of Transportation officer was conducting a commercial vehicle inspection when the officer was physically assaulted by the long haul truck driver.
Michael Harrington, 58, from Thessalon, Ontario, is charged with "Assault a Peace Officer".
Harrison is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on July 13.
