Traffic stop leads to human trafficking charge

One man is facing charges of human trafficking after being stopped by the OPP on Tuesday, April 25.

The vehicle was stopped on Highway 17 near Renfrew for a driving offence. 

After speaking with the driver and two passengers the officer arrested Jerry Aarestrup, age 33 of Chateauguay Que.  

Aarestrup was charged with:

  • human trafficking,
  • possession of methamphetamine,
  • possession of marijuana, and
  • carrying a concealed weapon.
