Traffic stop leads to alcohol and drug charges

After speaking to the driver, she was placed under arrest for impaired driving

On January 31, at approximately 2:30 a.m., North Bay OPP officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 11 in North Bay to check the sobriety of the driver.  

After speaking to the driver, she was placed under arrest for impaired driving.

She was taken to West Nipissing Police Service for breath tests which revealed she had over the legal limit of alcohol in her blood.

As a result of the police investigation a 46 year old East Ferris woman has been charged with:

  • Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol,
  • Driving with More Than 80mg of Alcohol in Blood, and

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance.

She was issued a 90-day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

She was released on a Promise to Appear.
