 BREAK ENTER AND THEFT TO A PERRY TOWNSHIP RESIDENCE

(PERRY TWP, ON) On Friday April 17, 2015 at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a break enter and theft to a King Side Road, Perry Township residence.

Unknown person(s) entered the residence sometime between November 1, 2014 and March 30, 2015 and stole a Husqvarna chainsaw and numerous tools.  The value of the stolen items is approximately $500.

Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.”

     OPP INVESTIGATE THEFT OF ARTIC CAT ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE

(ARMOUR TWP, ON) The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the theft of a 2008 Arctic Cat 650 All-Terrain vehicle (ATV) that was stolen from a Pickerel and Jack Lake Road, Armour Township residence.

Sometime between March 29, 2015 and April 18, 2015 unknown person(s) entered the Armour Township residence and stole the ATV.  Police are investigating and any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 .

                    R.I.D.E PROGRAM LEADS TO DRUG CHARGES

(ARMOUR TWP, ON) On Saturday April 18, 2015 at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Pickerel and Jack Lake Road, Armour Township.  Police stopped a pickup truck and subsequently arrested the driver, Martin CUNNINGHAM, 39 of Mississauga Ontario for possession of a controlled substance.

The accused was charged with possession of a controlled substance, marihuana, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice onThursday May 14, 2015 in Sundridge, Ontario.

   OPP ARREST PERRY TOWNSHIP MAN WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

(PERRY TWP, ON) On Saturday April 18, 2015 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint that the driver of a north bound vehicle was possibly impaired.

Officers followed up with the complaint and subsequently arrested and charged the driver with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and having more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code.

The accused, Dereck KUNKEL, 20 of Perry Township was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday May 14, 2015 in Sundridge, Ontario.

            POLICE CHARGE DRIVER WITH CARE OR CONTROL 
                                            OF MOTOR VEHICLE


(BURK’S FALLS, ON) On Sunday April 19, 2015 at approximately 3:00 a.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling the Village of Burk’s Falls when they found a male sleeping in his vehicle.  The vehicle was parked on Ontario Street in the Village of Burk’s Falls.

Police spoke to the driver of the vehicle, William THOMPSON, 64 of Orillia Ontario and subsequently arrested him for care or control while ability impaired and care of control with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code.

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice onThursday June 11, 2015 in Sundridge, Ontario.

     ALMAGUIN HIGHLANDS OPP ARREST MACHAR TOWNSHIP MAN
                         FOR BREACHING HIS COURT CONDITIONS

(MACHAR TWP, ON) The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a Machar Township man for breaching his recognizance conditions.

In July 2014, OPP charged the accused Dwaine GRAHAM, 26 of Machar Township with assault, trafficking in firearm and unauthorized possession of firearm, contrary to the Criminal Code.  The accused was held for a bail hearing and released on a recognizance with a condition to reside in Machar Township. 

On Sunday April 19, 2015 OPP arrested and charged the accused with two counts of fail to comply with a recognizance, contrary to the Criminal Code after a police investigation revealed that the accused was not following his court order to reside in Machar Township.
  
The accused is scheduled to appear for bail court at the Ontario Court of Justice on Monday April 20, 2015 in Parry Sound, Ontario.
