On Tuesday, January 22, members from the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption Catholic Women’s League of Canada (CWL) visited the North Bay Food Bank to present a cheque in the amount of $950.

Local charities including the North Bay Food Bank, the Gathering Place, Right to Life, Breakfast Program, Meals on Wheels, Catholic Charities, and the Bursary Program all benefited from the monies raised at the annual Christmas Bazaar & Tea held on Saturday, November 17.

“All monies donated to the North Bay Food Bank will go towards the purchase of infant formula,” explained Condie-McVeigh. “Because of the generous support of the North Bay community we are able to live the gospel of Jesus by spreading that generosity to those in need in our community.”

The national CWL theme of “Inspired by the Spirit Women respond to God’s call” comes to fruition in each of the CWL volunteers and supporters through this Bazaar and Tea.  It enables the CWL to continue the vital work of giving back to our local and global communities says a news release from the group.
