Following the success of last year's collective creation "Le Garde-Rêve", students in musical theatre production classes from grades 9 to 12, will present the musical theatre production "Le Garde-Rêve II" Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Perron Auditorium of École secondaire catholique Algonquin.
Admission is free, however, donations to the arts program will be greatly appreciated.
This play is a collective creation by students in the musical theatre class.
"It takes us into the imagination of a child who gets sucked through the closet door to experience magical moments," says a release.
"This year, the students focused on the psychological aspect of the main character, Justine, as she pursues the secret of happiness! It's an all-ages show not to be missed! In addition to the performance by students in the drama and vocal arts classes, the involvement of students from the construction, visual arts, and media arts programs as well as the senior dance class, testifies to the many skills acquired in these courses.
"This exciting project, under the guidance of the Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program, allows grades 11 and 12 students to customize their high school education and to focus on a career path that complements their skills and interests. As part of the SHSM program, students explore, identify, and refine career goals and make informed decisions related to postsecondary education or training."
