Temagami First Nation Receives an additional $1 Million from the Northern Ontario

Heritage Fund Corporation in Support of their Multi-Use Facility and Business Centre
On August 21, 2014, Chief Arnold Paul is quoted as saying; “We look forward to
investment from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, AANDC, and corporate partners.
We look forward to further developing our economic partnerships with both the private
sector and other communities.”
This quote was in relation to the $1 Million that Temagami First Nation had received
from FedNor at the August 21st public announcement on Bear Island.
Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation held a reception at Riverside Place in New
Liskeard this past Thursday, October 2, 2014. At this reception the Honourable Minister
Michael Gravelle, Minister of Northern Development and Mines, announced that
NOHFC will be contributing $1 Million to the Temagami First Nation Multi-Use Facility
and Business Centre as well.
This is welcome news as the project begins to finalize all funding.
Including NOHFC’s contribution, the total amount that has been secured is now at $3.85
million, which equates to almost 65% of the costs for the multi-use business centre.
The project was created and developed by Temagami First Nation in partnership with
Four Winds Management Services
