Head Start in Business in partnership with Northern Ontario’s CFDCs  has announced their business pitch competition, Enterprise Olympics, is back for yet another year. The two-day business pitch competition brings together Secondary School students from across Northern Ontario to develop a business idea, prepare a rudimentary business plan and execute an elevator pitch to a panel of judges!

"Students work in teams, based on six business sectors and are mentored by entrepreneurs from across Northern Ontario as they conceptualize their business idea on site. Groups can win $500 and the grand prize winners will each receive a $1000 scholarship to one of the participating post-secondary schools of their choice," says a news release.

Who are they looking for?

All full time secondary students with an interest in entrepreneurship up to the age of 19 are welcome. No experience is necessary. Local entrepreneurs and organization representatives are also invited to be at the centre of activity and participate as a judge, student mentor or general volunteer.=

When & where are Enterprise Olympics?

Wednesday May 17 & Thursday May 18, 2017 at Canadore College and Nipissing University in North Bay. Meals and accommodations are provided.

Enterprise Olympics provides an opportunity for students to examine their entrepreneurial skills and gain real world business experience.  These real world experiences and connections are valuable assets to students and provide insight into opportunities for youth in Northern Ontario.

This event is proudly brought to you by Head Start in Business funded by FedNor, The Ontario Trillium Foundation and Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation.
