A Healthy Communities project plans to develop a Comprehensive Communication Strategy as well as an Education-Awareness Strategy aimed at the issues surrounding Mental Health and Addictions.

The Communication Strategy will be presented in two forums; one symposium for service providers while the second forum will focus on the community.

The service provider education-awareness strategy is created to work with professionals in our community to increase public education and improve awareness about risks and harms associated with substance misuse. It is also hosting an educational session for physicians on the risks of opioids, implementation of a new community engagement project “Time to Talk”, Fact Sheet on Opioid medications and website information.

The public is invited to the Community Engagement Forum to be held on Thursday, March 21, at Odyssee High School from 6:30-9:00 p.m.

This event is open to all who want to come and engage in learning more, take part in a Q&A, as well as be inspired by a young woman’s journey through recovery.
