State of the North Conference being held in North Bay

State of the North is an annual conference that brings together members of the public, decision-makers, community leaders, experts and innovators to explore the state of Northern Ontario from an economic, social and environmental perspective

Northern Policy Institute will be hosting the second annual State of the North Conference on September 26 and 27 in North Bay.

State of the North is an annual conference that brings together members of the public, decision-makers, community leaders, experts and innovators to explore the state of Northern Ontario from an economic, social and environmental perspective. This year's theme is "Bold Approaches. Taxing for Growth"

Keynote speakers include Dr. Jack Mintz, President's Fellow of the School of Public Policy at the University of Calgary and Mikko Annala, Head of Governance Innovation at Finnish think tank Demos Helsinki.

In addition, panelists will discuss different topics such as 'How can taxation support growth?' and 'Taxation by Indigenous Communities.'

Panel speakers include Kevin Milligan, Fred O'Riordan, Toby Sanger, Manny Jules, Kate McCue and Dwayne Nashkawa.
