Spike belt used to stop truck in transport theft

Police have charged three men after using a spike belt to stop a truck in relation to a stolen transport.

Last Saturday afternoon OPP found a motor vehicle on Highway 631 that was related to a commercial motor vehicle theft in Longlac, Ontario. 

The vehicle fled from police but was finally stopped with the use of a tire deflation device near White River. The male driver and two male passengers were immediately arrested. 

Barinderjit Singh, 30, from Brampton is charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 
  • Possession of Break In Instruments 
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance-Cocaine, 
  • Dangerous Operation, 
  • Flight from Peace Officer,
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Narinder Singh, 49, from Brampton, is charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, 
  • Possession of Break In Instruments, 
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance-Cocaine.

Sanjeet Khokha, 31, Brampton, is charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possession of Break In Instruments
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Cocaine

All three men were remanded into custody.
