Community Living North Bay is this year’s local charity recipient for the Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie Campaign, which takes place next week from Monday, September 17 to Sunday the 23rd.

"The full $1 from each Smile Cookie sale will be donated to Community Living North Bay, and will be important in raising funds to continue to build access and inclusion in our community," says Marianne Raymond, Manager - Operations Community Living North Bay.

The Smile Cookie program started in 1996 in a Tim Horton’s restaurant in Hamilton. Since then, the program has grown to include all restaurants across Canada and expanded into the United States.

To date, the Smile Cookie program has raised over $46 million for local charities.

"Tim Horton’s has always been a leader and supporter to Community Living North Bay and has employed people with intellectual disabilities for many years. Partnering with them will not only help our campaign but our overall mission to create a welcoming, supportive and accepting community here in North Bay," adds Raymond.

Community Living North Bay supports over 500 people with intellectual disabilities and their families, by providing a diverse range of inclusion-based services that begin at EarlyOn Child and Family Centre (formerly the Early Years Centre), to transitioning from school to helping individuals find employment, to finding apartments and homes. These services, as well as many others, help people with intellectual disabilities and their families live a life that many often take for granted.

The public can place bulk orders of Smile Cookies for their office, school, neighbours or friends by completing a pre-order form. Forms must be completed and submitted with payment to Community Living North Bay, 741 Wallace Road by Friday, September 14.
