Sixty personal support workers and nurses needed

Canadian Shield Health Care Services Inc. will be at Canadore College tomorrow (Tues.) to begin the task of hiring 60 personal support workers and nurses.

In November 2018, Canadian Shield Health Care announced its partnership with the college. 

“We actually have an immediate need for 10 personal support workers in North Bay,” said Canadian Shield Health Care’s chief executive officer Maneesh Walia. “There is position availability for both part- and full-time workers. While we’re on campus we are hoping to connect with Canadore alumni and will also be interviewing soon-to-be graduates for jobs in the spring.”

The collaboration between Canadore College and Canadian Shield Health Services will have client care offices located within The Village, and will deliver customized vocational learning programs, developed by Canadore College, to enhance cross-functional knowledge in respiratory therapy, mental health, safe mobility, cognitive stimulation among care giver teams.

Canadian Shield Health Care anticipates moving into their newly-renovated office space at Canadore in early March. Their on-site presence will assist in program delivery and workforce development.
