Ridgid generator stolen

On Wednesday February 8, Almaguin Highlands OPP investigated the theft of a 7500 watt Ridgid generator.  The theft occurred sometime between January 25, and February 4, at a Berriedale residence. 

Police are continuing to investigate and any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday February 2, at approximately 12:45 a.m. OPP were called after a report of an intoxicated driver on Highway 592.
Police located the female, Shannon Kutt, 21 of Huntsville and arrested and charged her with the following offences:

  • Driving while ability impaired, 
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance,
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle, 
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence, 
  • Drive motor vehicle, no validation on plate, 

The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday March 9, in Sundridge.

And on Tuesday February 7, at approximately 6:30 p.m. OPP were patrolling Highway 11 in Armour Township.  Police stopped a southbound vehicle and subsequently arrested the driver for driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood. 

The driver, James Orosz, 61, was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on March 9th in Sundridge.
