(PERRY TWP, ON) On Saturday February 28, 2015 at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police conducted a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program at Highway 518 West and Masons Road, Perry Township.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., a westbound vehicle approached the R.I.D.E. program and the driver was subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance, marihuana.  Further investigation revealed several cannabis marihuana plants in the vehicle.   The driver, Stephen BERRY, 59 of Bailieboro, Ontario was charged with possession of a controlled substance, marihuana, possession of a controlled substance, cannabis resin and possession of a controlled substance, marihuana for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  The driver was also charged with an insure load, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
 
The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday April 9, 2015 in Sundridge Ontario.
