The Board of Directors of NECO Community Futures Development Corporation congratulate Denise Sherritt on a well-deserved retirement.

Ms. Sherritt has been a strong advocate for many years in assisting small businesses in the region, and now she is handing over the position to the recently announced new Executive Director, Patti Carr.

Patti joins NECO after 32 years with the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce where she most recently held the position of Vice-President of Policy and Communications. She has been actively involved in community initiatives and serves on various boards including Nipissing University Board of Governors.

Chair Dave Gray says the NECO Board is very pleased with the recent changes.

“Denise has been a well-known and respected supporter for area businesses throughout her career with the Ontario Government and The Business Centre Nipissing Parry Sound, and especially these last four years with NECO," Gray stated in the release.

"Over and above NECO’s mandate to provide loans and counselling to businesses and supporting community development initiatives, Denise and her team were able to support additional clients through this year’s pandemic.” Chair Gray added.

New Executive Director, Patti Carr stated that “she looks forward to the challenge and working with this exceptional board in supporting SMEs, particularly during these trying times.”

Patti brings with her extensive experience and knowledge to assist in growing NECO’s presence in delivering the investment program to support small and medium-sized businesses throughout the region.
